National Institute of Statistics and Censuses records 11% Inflation rate

National Institute of Statistics and Censuses (INDEC) of Argentina that inflation has increased to 11 % in 2010. According to official data consumer prices in December rose 0.8 percent from the previous month. On the other hand, inflation for lower-income sectors, according to figures from Indec was 20 percent.

INDEC estimates that the country has about 4.8 million poor, as it calculates the poverty line with the official figures on the cost of basic goods. Meanwhile, private estimates talk of 9.3 million people living in poverty.
