4 European Nations Banned Short Selling From Friday

4 of the major European countries viz France Italy, Spain and Belgium have decided to ban the short selling of banking stocks as according to them short selling causes irrational fear and volatility in markets.

In short selling traders try to sell the stock without owning it,Short sellers speculate that they will be able to buy the stock at a lower amount than the price at which they sold short and make the profit out of it.Greece had already banned  short-selling on Monday.French President Nicolas Sarkozy and German Chancellor Angela Merkel will be discussing the financial situations on tuesday.
